We wanted to create a gift shop that combines the best of what Cabin and Camp Decorating through the decades is all about. The small details that give you all the feels. You know, the things that help you remember the best of days when you were camping in a tent, camper or cabin. The ones that make you go, "aww, I remember my grandparents had this," and they bring a tear of joy to your eyes. Sure, we love when you find something to buy and take home for yourself, but we also love hearing your memories of Estes Park in the Good Old Days. Stories of growing up in Estes, learning to ski at Hidden Valley, volunteering at the Rooftop Rodeo, the places you worked over the years and the small business owners you met along the way. Stop by to share your stories.
We have a passion for Estes Park history and the people who built our little town. Our collection of Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park artwork and memorabilia began more than 30 years ago. Having become familiar with the artists, photographers, writers and other characters of interest, we have a good idea of what antiques folks might want to collect and keep for future generations to enjoy. Museums are great, when managed well. You shouldn't have to look at the same exhibits every time you go inside. We work very hard to keep the merchandise changing frequently so you don't get bored with us. We see no point in locking up items in storage so people can't enjoy them. CABINtique, is about enjoying and preserving history and sharing it with the next generation.
CABINtique is filled with a mix of new and vintage items. Our home decor pieces have a cabin vibe to them. We don't sell Victorian or MCM antiques unless they have a rustic, lodge or cabin flair to them. We are always on the hunt for vintage, local furniture pieces like Nowels Knotty Pine and Rocky Mountain Pine Furniture that holds so many fond memories for locals and visitors too. New items are typically home goods with that vintage feel to them. Personally, we'd rather have new bedding and pillows, not vintage, and lamps are also an item we feel more comfortable selling brand new rather than used. We feature the artwork of local artists and photographers of the past. Clatworthy, Parke, Stirling, Kirsch, might be some names you recognize. We also sell vintage books written by local authors like; Enos Mills, Joe Mills, Dorr Yeager, Clem Yore, Frank Cheley and many others. New items include Cheryl Pennington hand-colored photographs reproduced from original vintage negatives.
